Another good, but not well known, web comic I came across: http://well-of-souls.com/outsider/ Unfortunately it hasn't updated for awhile, which is a pity. The story was getting interesting and the author of the story (has a forum profile, here: http://forums.relicnews.com/member.php?userid=285 ) wrote lots of background information / fluff about the universe where the comic takes place.
